Wow,
Don’t know where the weekend went, and had zero time to post. Actually, I do know where the weekend went. I was working on my big “light bulb” idea I mentioned in an earlier post. I can tell you that it will be a very unique website. I did a lot of research and am excited because there is NOTHING like it on the web. I will let you know only that it naturally has a writing/literary bent, but you’ll have to wait until the site is up and running to see what it’s all about. In the meantime, I’ve chosen the name, signed up with a web hosting company and chosen my WordPress theme for my site and uploaded it. This is all VERY time consuming.
Alas, I also discovered that despite being mildly techie and fairly geeky, I need massive doses of extra techiness and geekiness to customize this site. Luckily my very good friend Jim Bursch (who created WestLAOnline and its’ subsidiaries) is going to help me separate my CSS from my Widgets and I can’t wait! If you need his services, he’s amazing. Check out his Websites for Non Techies here. Mention my name too, I’m sure he’ll give you a discount.
Okay, I’m now officially dying of curiosity. Fortunately, I’m patient. 🙂 I understand the techy nightmare stuff. I’ve a book on lulu I need to republish because they didn’t put my page numbers on and the print is in need of a magnifying glass and stage lighting. Very aggravating. I’ve also got a book trailer to finish, for the above mentioned novel.
I’m feeling like you Kelly, on the work front. I’m trying to start some fires and there is this path in front of me that forks. I suppose it’s time to boldly go where many writers have gone before, into literary oblivion of achievment. I came here to cheer you on and I feel I’m the one benefiting. Thank you Kelly, you are a gem.
Thanks for the support, Val, and I hope I can help you stoke some fires too. It’s tough out there in word wasteland these days. What’s your book on Lulu?
I will certainly let you know when my venture is up and running!
My book on lulu is “The Adventures Of Granny Destross And CeeCee.” It’s a middle reader fantasy novel and it’s the first in a series of three. I’m going to have the second volume up on lulu either at the end of September or beginning of October. I’ve been so busy with life etc that marketing it has taken a back seat for the past month. The story is an animators dream. Ah well, what will be will be I guess. There is a background story regarding the this book and it’s important to me to get it out in the world to children. For me, it’s about that and not being the next Robert Munsch.
You can read the first eleven pages on lulu if you so desire kelly honey. Talk soon, take care and eat that brownie when you can!
Sound great. I will check it out! Thanks so much
